Louis P. Coates, D.O.
Doctor Coates has spent most of life in Garland, Texas. He attended Club Hill Elementary and Brandenburg Middle School. He eventually graduated from South Garland High School in 1987. He subsequently attended Texas A&M University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science. After this he attended The University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine where he graduated Cum Laude. After medical school he attended residency at St. Paul Hospital at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he became Chief Resident from 1999 to 2000.
After becoming board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine in 2000, he went into private practice in Garland, Texas. Since that time he has been elected by other physician members to serve as the Secretary, Vice President and President of The Texas Osteopathic Medical Association District V. He has also been elected to by other physicians in the area to the board of multiple physician associations. The American Health Council cordially appointed Dr. Louis Coates, D.O., as Best in Medicine in 2019. He has been a guest on multiple radio shows and has hosted a radio show called Better Health on 770am in Dallas Fort Worth. This show was a commitment to improving the quality of health to its listeners.
